Bridgestone India Announces Winners of the 6th Edition of Mobility Social Impact Awards 2026

Bridgestone India announced the winners of the 6th Edition of its Mobility Social Impact Awards (MSIA) 2026 in Pune celebrating organizations that have leveraged mobility as a force for social good at a ceremony attended by industry leaders and social change-makers. Mobility Social Impact Award (MSIA) is an initiative aimed at recognising and celebrating innovative mobility solutions transforming India's landscape.
This year, the awards were presented in three categories namely Mobility in Empowerment of Vulnerable Communities, Excellence and Innovation in Road Safety and Changemaker in Road Safety. The winners were felicitated by Dr. Deepak Walokar, Former Director – Karve Institute of Social Service, Ms. Seema Suman, CSR Head – Allstate India, and Ms. Abha Khetarpal Maurya, President – Cross the Hurdles, along with Bridgestone India’s Managing Director, Mr. Rajarshi Moitra.

In the Mobility in Empowerment of Vulnerable Communities Category, the winner is Anubhuti Charitable Trust, a women-led NGO working with Nomadic, Denotified, and Adivasi communities in Maharashtra, focusing on empowering first-generation learners through education and leadership development. To date, Anubhuti has positively impacted over 8 lakh individuals through training, counselling, scholarships, fellowships, and awareness programs.
The runner up in this category is Hand in Hand India for the first such initiative for Traffic Police Personnel in our country. This project has significantly improved the health, dignity, safety, and operational efficiency of Bengaluru Traffic Police personnel by bringing sanitation facilities directly to their duty locations. The initiative has particularly strengthened inclusive access through separate facilities for men and women, benefiting women personnel with safe and gender-sensitive sanitation.
The Jury Commendation in this category is MITCON Forum for Social Development, an organization that focuses on enhancing employability, promoting entrepreneurship, supporting sustainable livelihoods, and improving the overall well-being of underserved communities across rural and urban areas.
In the Excellence and Innovation in Road Safety Category, the winner is United Way of Mumbai, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives by mobilizing communities and implementing impactful solutions to social challenges across urban and rural India. Its initiatives have reached over 250,000 young people, promoting safe, inclusive, and sustainable mobility, particularly during school commutes.
The runner up in this category is Forum for Prevention of Road Accidents (FPRA). FPRA promotes safer roads and communities through awareness, youth engagement, advocacy, and evidence-based road safety initiatives.
The Jury Commendation in this category goes to Foresight Society of Human Resources and Development whose initiatives have reached over 125,000 truck drivers across India, restoring vision, safeguarding health, and unlocking more than ₹1,000 crores in cumulative social security coverage for one of the nation's most overlooked workforces.
In the Category Changemaker in Road Safety, we recognise Mr. Veeramani Sekar who has made significant individual contribution towards advancing road safety. Born speech and hearing impaired, Veeramani never saw this as a barrier. As a professional mime artist, Veeramani turned to performance as a powerful medium: staging silent road safety mimes at traffic signals and public spaces to convey the real consequences of reckless driving, rather than simply holding placards. Veeramani now trains fellow volunteers to use mime as an awareness tool, extending the initiative's reach.
Now in its sixth year, the Mobility Social Impact Awards is Bridgestone India’s flagship initiative, recognizing scalable and impactful solutions that use mobility to drive positive social transformation and community well-being across India.

Anubhuti is a pioneering NGO led by a Nomadic woman, empowering Nomadic and Adivasi youth through education, mental health support, leadership development, and career guidance. The initiative has enabled 1,000+ first-generation learners to continue their education, achieve higher education aspirations, and build resilient futures.
Hand in Hand India
Through the Hygiene on Go (HOG) initiative, Hand in Hand India has improved the health, dignity, and working conditions of Bengaluru Traffic Police by providing mobile sanitation facilities at duty locations. The innovative model has delivered over 20,000 service usages while promoting gender-inclusive and uninterrupted public service delivery.
MITCON Forum for Social Development
MITCON Forum for Social Development has empowered 800+ tribal youth and women from forest-fringe communities through industry-oriented skill training, livelihood opportunities, and entrepreneurship support. By enabling sustainable employment and reducing dependence on forest-based livelihoods, the initiative strengthens community resilience while contributing to the mitigation of human-wildlife conflict.
United Way Mumbai
Through the ViA Safe Mobility Programme, United Way Mumbai has empowered over 2.5 lakh young people to identify mobility risks and champion safer, more inclusive school journeys. By fostering youth leadership and community-driven solutions, the initiative is creating lasting improvements in road safety and sustainable mobility.
Forum for Prevention of Road Accidents (FPRA)
FPRA's Youth for Motorcycle Safety initiative has empowered young people to champion safer roads through awareness, advocacy, and behavioural change. Reaching nearly 12,000 beneficiaries, the program has significantly improved helmet-law compliance and safe riding practices among youth.
Foresight Foundation
Through Project Abhay Saarthi, Foresight Foundation has enhanced road safety by providing vision care, health screening, and social security access to over 1.25 lakh truck drivers across India. The program combines technology, healthcare, and welfare services to create safer roads and dignified livelihoods for the nation's logistics workforce.
