Blizzak LM005 Reaches 23 Test Wins: Bridgestone Tyre Tops Another Five Podiums in 2023 Winter Season
The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 has been named overall winner in five European winter tyre tests in the 2023 season. The leading product in Bridgestone’s winter tyre portfolio went into the testing season with 18 test wins since its launch in 2019, and its latest wins have taken this number to an outstanding 23.
The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005’s first overall win in the 2023 season came in Auto Motor und Sport’s winter tyre test. Achieving top rankings in the wet as well as on dry roads – including the highest score in wet braking – the Bridgestone tyre also stood out in the environmental ranking with the best rolling resistance.
Experts from GTÜ (Germany’s largest officially recognised inspection organization of freelance vehicle inspectors), ARBÖ (Austrian motor club) and ACE (European motor club) then awarded the Blizzak LM005 the "highly recommended" rating in their combined winter test – the only entrant in the tested profiles to receive such recognition. The Bridgestone tyre excelled in numerous safety-critical categories, including snow braking, and wet and dry handling – achieving the highest scores.
Online tyre test platform, TYRE REVIEW, also named the Blizzak LM005 its winter tyre test winner – and for the second consecutive year. TYRE REVIEW – one of the leading international sources of independent tyre information and tyre tests – awarded Bridgestone’s winter specialist top marks for braking in wet and snowy conditions, as well as rolling resistance.
Renowned car magazine Sport Auto then brought about the 22nd test win by putting the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 at the top of its winter tyre test podium. The winter specialist was awarded top marks on wet roads, outstanding performance on snowy streets and the highest score in the environmental assessment – receiving Sport Auto’s “very good” rating.
Lastly, the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 took the test victory in AUTO Straßenverkehr’s 2023 winter tyre test. With the shortest braking distance on snow-covered and wet roads, top marks for handling in snowy conditions and unparalleled performance in the environmental rating, Bridgestone’s flagship winter tyre once again moved to the top of the overall ranking.
Developed in Bridgestone EMIA’s R&D centre in Rome, the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 offers precise control and outstanding grip in wet conditions for both car and SUV drivers, ensuring maximum safety in winter road conditions. The winter tyre owes its excellent performance in cold temperatures and EU label A-grade in wet handling to its pronounced zigzag-shaped tread grooves and its innovative rubber compound. The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 is also compatible with electric and hybrid vehicles, following the Bridgestone E8 commitment and contributing to more sustainable mobility.
