Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 Celebrates 20th Test Victory Following GTÜ, ARBÖ and ACE’s 2023 Winter Tyre Test Win
The winning streak of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 continues in this year's test season: In the 2023 winter tyre test by GTÜ, ARBÖ and ACE, the winter specialist secured its 20th overall test victory since 2020. Tested on a VW Tiguan in size 235/55 R18, the tyre’s outstanding performance in wet conditions particularly impressed the independent test professionals of the organisations, who awarded it the "highly recommended" rating – making Bridgestone’s flagship winter tyre the only entrant in the tested profiles to receive such recognition.
Experts from GTÜ (Germany’s largest officially recognised inspection organization of freelance vehicle inspectors), ARBÖ (Austrian motor club) and ACE (European motor club), rigorously tested 10 models in their 2023 winter tyre test. In the overall rankings, the already widely acclaimed Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 once again claimed the top spot on the podium. “Bridgestone is very close to the perfect winter tyre; it performed more than admirably in all categories,” the testers concluded. The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 excelled in numerous safety-critical categories, including snow braking, and wet and dry handling – achieving the highest scores.
Developed in Bridgestone EMIA’s R&D centre in Rome, the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 offers precise control and outstanding grip in wet conditions for both car and SUV drivers, ensuring maximum safety in winter road conditions. These impressive performance characteristics are attributed to its pronounced zigzag-shaped tread grooves and innovative rubber compound.
